only discovered last autumn that this route had never been used, as it contained, and that all steaners had gone through the shorter, deeper, and safer Sailam Cha As it was immaterial to the Customs which channel was used as long as ele confined themselves to one route, Sir Robert Hart has sanctioned the substitut the Sailam Channel for the Kerr Channel in the revised Regulations.
I have also the honour to mention parenthetically that, for the convenien shipping via this route, the Customs have, after a year's consideration of the ques finally started to thoroughly survey the entrance at Wangmoon for the purpos erecting a light during the course of the year.
